Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental 文華東方酒店的下午茶

It has been so long that I haven't been to a proper traditional English style afternoon tea...

I was so glad my friend Allison, the founder of A. Style, an art and lifestyle home products shop in Hong Kong, came to visit London for her business trip.

I remember 3 years ago, I had scones with her in the old Mandarin Oriental in Central, Hong Kong, and I loved the rose jam they had there. It's a shame I couldn't find it anywhere in London yet.

This time we tried the newly opened The Rosebery in Mandarin Oriental located Knightsbridge, London.

We booked the table 2 days before, and it was a Tuesday, so there weren't many people. We were seated in the sofa area by the window, which we could see Harvey Nichols opposite.

The atmosphere was great, and a very contemporary style of interiors.

I ordered the Whole Rosebuds Tea, which smelled just like rose, and I enjoyed it without adding any sugars, the original flavour is the best.

The Afternoon Tea set arrived, and the waiter hang it on the display apple tree, which amused us, as it is quite a creative thing to do.

I was hoping to find the rose jam here with the scone, but they didn't have rose jam, instead they had rose petal jelly, still, I could taste the rose flavour, satisfied!

We each had a plain scone & raisins scone, with lemon curd, strawberry jam and clotted cream.

The dessert tasted just as delicious as how it looked. Loved the colour combination they set the dessert. It was also not too sweet like the other afternoon tea desserts I've tried before.

The finger sandwiches were very freshly made, and creative as it came in rolls instead of the normal rectangular or triangular shape.

I would say this has been so far the best afternoon tea I have had, and I would definitely visit again in the future.

The Afternoon Tea set is £45 per person, the service is 5 star.
